The Golden Globes took place recently and The Grammys this past Sunday. I like to pull inspiring messages and ideas from the shows to share. This year at the Globes, Norman Lear really impacted me. At 98 years old, he received the HFPA’s Carol Burnett Award, which celebrates "outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen."

Today got me thinking about the classic movie, Groundhog Day, with Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. I’m sure you’ve seen it. Phil (played by Murray) keeps waking up on the same day and having to relive it over and over again. We see him go through every emotion.

I was reading in the New York Times the reason there is such a big gap between the end of an election and Inauguration Day was created by the authors of the Constitution, so the new government would have time to travel to DC during the winter. It actually used to be even longer, but was changed in 1933 when an amendment was made. What an interesting fact! It reminded me to always stay in education mode, keep learning, researching, reading, talking to people, asking questions. I like to think of this as market research mode.
