The Key To Stepping Away From Your Business Is To Have A Great Team
This is my first week back after a 10 day vacation, which was absolutely amazing and fabulous, going through Italy seeing sights. I actually connected with a variety of different family businesses! I learned so so much and had a great time.
There were some personal things that went on in my personal life in September that had me unexpectedly stepping out and taking more time off than I ever imagined.
How could I run a business?
How could I lead this business to continue to scale, when, honestly, it feels like I barely worked in September?
The key is have a great team.
We had been planning for vacation. We were working ahead on all of our marketing. My clients were notified months in advance, but here's the key.
Life happens and it did last month.
How can you actually continue to scale, grow and develop a great business when your business can be vulnerable by you taking some unexpected time off or even planned time off?
Think about the key things that could be vulnerable in your business.
What would not get done?
Where is that hole?
What are you going to do about it to start filling it?
Are you going to shift around to other responsibilities?
Are you going to train people up?
How is it you're going to make sure you're building a business that can scale even when you're out of it for a bit of time?
That is building a great brand and a great business.
So think about those things. If you have questions, I'm always here and most importantly, remember the idea that building a great company is to build a great life.
If you're not building a great life, if you're not taking vacations, if you're not present with your family, and you're just working, working, working and scaling without anything else, how else can you be approaching it that can be smarter for you and your company?
