The Importance of SOPs and Growing Your Team

Today we're going to talk about the importance of SOPs for your team and in the building and expansion of your business.

One of our team members, Tara, who's been with me for about eight years now, is transitioning and moving into an amazing new opportunity. This shift provided us with an opportunity to look at our own system and processes with our team, what we're doing well, and what we need to clean up.

In going through this process myself, I realized how important it is for other businesses and prompted me to do a series on SOPs when you look at your team in relation to how are you going to grow and expand.

One of the most important things I've always advised on and truly am adhering to now is to look at what trainings are in place for new team members when they come on board.

One important element in team training is video training. I believe it's one of the greatest things you can do. In fact, Slater Success is putting more video training in place.

Because people learn differently (some are visual, some like to read), it is invaluable to create not only the training video for new team members but all a transcript of the video. It shows the process of a task or procedure.

In running a great organization that you want to grow and scale, there are a few questions you should ask yourself.

How much are you still working on paper? How much are you in the cloud? Does everybody have access? Does your team know where things are located? Are your filing systems logical and accessible in moving your business forward?
