Change Is Happening, Are You Ready?
A few comments I’ve heard in the past couple of weeks…
“I went to a wedding!”
“I got to go to my son’s dance recital in a theatre filled with people!”
“I’m getting an award and the presentation is going to be in-person!”
“I saw a line outside a movie theatre!”
“I’m back in the office a few days a week!”
Even though none of these things sound like anything out of the ordinary in a normal year, they are very different from what we’ve experienced since the pandemic.
We just celebrated the 4th of July and freedom this year is also about getting back to a more normal lifestyle. During the weekend it was wonderful to see friends and family who traveled in from the West Coast for an IN-PERSON visit. We laughed, created new memories together to share forward and we hugged one another.
Proms and graduation parties are taking place.
The Olympics begin in a few weeks.
Vacations are being planned.
Broadway opens back up this Fall. I am so excited to go the the theater again.
We are all realizing how much we’ve missed and we are finding the simple joy and inner peace that comes with being in a room full of people we love.
This is also a big deal after a year and a half of masks and social distancing. Even though we welcome the change, there is still fear and anxiety in many people’s minds.
Be respectful to those around you. Some people will choose not to attend a large event yet, or will wear a mask if they do, or won’t want to fly in a plane or come back into the office, etc.
We all need to make decisions in our best interest and that includes for our businesses. As the world changes, we need to figure out how our business changes with it.
You know what works and what doesn’t now more than ever.
You know how to adjust and pivot when everything changes in an instant.
You know how to handle your finances through unexpected and challenging times.
You know your team and your employees and better understand their lives outside the office.
You know your customers and your clients and how you can best serve them.
You have found resources and support to help you grow and learn.
Making a plan for the next 30, 60 and 90 days is vital right now. We have six months left of this year and we will make hundreds of decisions over that time.
Write down your goals, stay aligned to your values, ask for help when you need it and keep taking consistent action. This works for personal and business decisions. If you want to talk, feel free to reach out anytime.
