Business Evolution: Embracing Change as a Catalyst for Growth
We are in the midst of a powerful business evolution.
Change is happening all around us—fast, dynamic, and often uncomfortable. It reminds me of a clever book title from years ago: Change Is Good… You Go First. That sentiment captures the hesitation many people feel when facing the unknown.
But here's the truth: change, while disruptive, can also be a powerful catalyst for growth.
I see change as a positive interruption—an invitation to reflect, adjust, and move forward with intention. One of the biggest forces driving change today is the rapid advancement of technology.
For leaders, this is the moment to lean into lifelong learning. Staying curious, open, and proactive about what's new is essential. How can we use these innovations to elevate our businesses and ourselves?
Let’s talk about AI. It’s a powerful tool—not a replacement for people, but a resource for improving productivity and efficiency. When we use AI strategically, our teams can accomplish more. That means more impact, more growth, and stronger succession planning. That's a win across the board.
If you haven’t started learning about AI, now’s the time. If you're an attorney, consider a CLE. For others, seek out continuing education, workshops, or courses. Grow with the tools. Let them fuel your development.
Technology is also transforming how we operate. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are evolving. The question is no longer, Can we keep up?—it’s, How can we do this better, smarter, and more effectively?
Here’s my challenge for you:
As you look toward 2025, ask yourself—what evolution do you want to bring into your business? Pick just one, two, or three things. Keep it simple. What will you commit to learning this year that will move your organization forward? Let it be the catalyst for your next stage of growth. I’d love to hear what’s on your list.
Let’s grow together.
