Honoring the Women Who Shape Us: A Reflection for Women's History Month

Welcome to Women's History Month—a time to reflect on and celebrate the women who have made a lasting impact on our lives and continue to inspire us every day.

As I travel this month, I’m taking a moment to acknowledge the incredible women who have influenced my journey—from my early career to my days as a dancer, and throughout my leadership and business growth.

The Women Who Shaped My Journey

When I think back to the pivotal figures in my life, I remember Mrs. Durkin, a dance instructor whose dedication and leadership set an example I tried to emulate. Her daughter, too, was someone I admired and learned from.

In my early career, I was fortunate to work alongside remarkable women like Lucille, Jocelyn, and Laurie, who taught me valuable lessons about leadership, resilience, and navigating the business world.

And when I entered the printing industry—a true boys’ club at the time—it was unexpected mentors, including male colleagues, who helped me push boundaries and build a successful career. Their support and guidance reinforced what I’ve always believed: great leadership is about lifting others up, regardless of gender.

Who Has Helped Shape Your Leadership?

Take a moment to think about the people who have influenced your leadership and personal growth. Who has supported you, challenged you, and helped you become the leader you are today? Have you had a chance to express gratitude to them?

And let’s not forget that mentorship and inspiration come from all directions. We’re learning from younger generations every day, whether it’s through fresh perspectives, innovation, or their fearless approach to change.

Paying It Forward

Just as others have impacted us, we have the opportunity—and responsibility—to give back and make a difference for the next generation of leaders.

So this Women's History Month, I encourage you to:

✔ Reflect on the people who have shaped your path.
✔ Reach out and say thank you.
✔ Continue to mentor and uplift others.

I’d love to hear your stories—who are the women who have made an impact on your life and leadership? Drop a comment and share your experiences.

And stay tuned—this month, I’ll be spotlighting some extraordinary women leaders in "Her Success Story." I can’t wait to share their wisdom and insights with you.

Here’s to the women who lead, inspire, and empower—past, present, and future. 💙
