When Life and Business Get Busy

Today, I'm going to talk to you about when life and business get busy.

Tomorrow, I fly out to really enjoy a special time in my personal life. Our son is getting married this weekend. I'm heading out to California for the wedding festivities and taking off a few days off afterwards to really be present and embrace our family and our new extended family.

Tonight I'm speaking for a great organization called the Institute for Supply and Management (ISM).

All of this activity brings to mind the question for all of us, "How do you get it all done?" How am I getting myself packed and ready to go to a wedding with a gown and enough clothes to last a week and a half while on vacation, as well as being prepped to speak tonight?

It's all about planning. I was brought up as a planner. My mother was a planner. My sister is a planner. My daughter is a planner. It kind of goes down the female line in our family.

All of this is pulled off by having a great team behind you. My team has been a great resource in getting all of this planned ahead and implementing our marketing plan for the next several weeks.

We're also onboarding new team members. That started a couple of weeks ago. Everything is in process and nothing is complete. Yet, it is getting done. Done is better than perfect.

I am bound to forget something when I pack and head off to California. But guess what? It's California, they have stores! We'll be fine.

I'll have my dress, I'll have my shoes. It's gonna be a great wedding. and a great weekend.

Tonight when I go speak, will I remember everything perfectly? Probably not but I know I'm going to connect to the audience with an open heart and an open mind. I'll speak my truth and ask them to join me in speaking theirs.

Plan; create your lists; delegate where you can; and know that as life and business come together versus colliding, there is a ton of joy here.

I'm really looking forward to meeting this group of women this evening, and I'm really, really looking forward to enjoying this time with my family. To all the great things in your lives!
