International Women's Day and the Women Who Inspire Us

International Women's Day means the world to me as being a woman leader, and it's so easy to think about what women leaders have inspired us. There are so many names that readily come to mind. To bring it down to a more personal level, who has really inspired and touched you?

One of the greatest woman leaders who touched me is my mom. She is a woman who has made a huge impact on me as a woman, on my success as a woman, on who I am and everything I do in business today, to the mother I am, and to the relationship I still have with her today.

When I think about international Women's Day, I like to think about not only who actually touched us but also how the way we shift the world is a combined effect.

Who else has affected us in some way? For me, there have been wonderful male mentors in my life. A combined effect in shifting the world is a combined of effects amongst great leaders who come in all shapes sizes, backgrounds. While we want to highlight great women, let's highlight great people, as well. Let's acknowledge all the people who enabled us to make International Women's Day what it is today, a group of amazing women doing amazing things and being recognized for.
