Strategic Plans - The One Two Approach
I hope everybody enjoyed a wonderful and lovely Thanksgiving holiday, had times with family friends, and people that are important to you. Most importantly, I hope you took that moment and really thought about what you're grateful for because it is so important on the business side of things.
I always look at this time of year, as I've been writing about recently, as strategic planning season.
Strategic plans can start as early as September or October and can be happening in November. Please try to get them done by December. If not, get right on this early in January.
Now, let's look at something that is really important. Reflect on what has happened in your business this year.
One, what is working? Two, what has not been working?
I always look to look at the positive. What is working and how do we move that into the other areas of our business? I never love to come from the place of critique in what is not working, getting down on ourselves.
Look from the place of improvement and what is possible. I firmly believed for a long time to show up every day with a, what can I do attitude in that positivity sense.
So, break this down. What is working in your finances; what is working in your productivity; what is working in your team?
What is working in your marketing, your sales.
Take these thoughts and ideas and say, "How do I expand on this to get the maximum in the other areas that will help scale grow and succeed in a company?"
If you have questions on where to start or how to do strategic plans, don't hesitate to reach out. You know, I'm around. You see me every week in your inbox.
Most importantly, make time sure you're time blocking for your strategic plan. Think about who you're pulling together on your team or outside your team to help facilitate it to strategically plan it for input.
What are the pieces of information you want to know? I mentioned finance team, marketing, sales, operations.
Think about this. Pull your strategic leads together. Create something that is going to make an impact for your organization for the long term.
