What is Value
Value.
You hear this word all the time, but what does it truly mean to provide value in business?
You can provide value with the services you offer.
You can provide value with the content you put out.
You can provide value with the people you connect to one another.
You can provide value with the sharing of expert advice.
But how?
When creating services, focus on results. And stay in the relationship and the conversation. Not every proposal you send out is going to be accepted the first time. It might take weeks, months or even years to foster a relationship. But when you consistently provide value, your name will be top of mind when the client is ready to say yes.
When putting out content, are you simply promoting yourself or are you giving people something to think about? Are you sharing your knowledge? Are you giving away your best tips and practices? You should be! Giving away what we know is part of gaining connections. There is always so much more under the surface and personal work you will do with people. Don’t fear working for free. You are working for growth.
When you can, connect your network to one another! It takes just a moment to do an email intro or send a LinkedIn message. You know a lot of people. Do they know who they need to know? This practice is not only important, it will come back to you. People will remember you were the one who connected them or sent a referral their way. And they will do the same for you if and when the time arises. Helping each other. Supporting each other. It’s how we all work best.
Earlier this month, on International Women’s Day, we reached out to our network of women to ask them to share a quote about what the day meant to them. We spent the day posting their words and watching the reactions and engagement between one another. It was wonderful and inspiring and provided so much value that we could never have provided alone.
The definition of value in the dictionary is “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.”
You have important, worthy, useful things to share.
Keep value at the top and growth follows.
