I'm 10% Into this
I’m all about practical actions. But there’s at least 10% of me that taps into the deeper side of business. The spiritual, the visioning, the energy.
It’s a big part of my success and important to my health and wellbeing. Mediation is a big one for me and I’ve talked about it before. I believe in the practice and I see the results. I am also a big planner and big on vision.
I turn 60 in April and it’s definitely a thought-provoking age. While I don’t plan on retiring ANYTIME soon, in fact I’m ramping up a lot more than I’m winding down, I am still preparing my finances for when that stage of life occurs. But c’mon, 60 is the new 40, right??
My husband, Michael, surprised me with a trip for my birthday and coordinated it so that both of our grown up kids could join us, even though they live on opposite coasts. I can't tell you how special that is to me! Family time is everything.
Hiking outdoors is one of the greatest ways I clear my head for new ideas. I don’t work on thinking about my business, my garden or other things. I let myself be out in nature, expand my mind and allow creativity to fly. Major clients and contracts, business expansion, as well as hobbies, new things in my home indoors and in my garden show up. For me, it is about opening the mind and your heart in the moment.
If you aren’t setting up your business to take the trip and enjoy your freedom and have fun in your life, now is the time to start a vision process. Or if you are like me and ramping up your business because you believe in ever-growing forward, do this exercise as well.
What do you want your life to look like in one year, 5 years, 10 years? Get some ideas on paper, make a collage, type it up. There is no right or wrong process.
You don't have to work a million hours and never take time off to be successful. Build a team that supports your vision. Get processes in place. Rise up your leadership to who you want to be. Don’t wait, don’t ponder, stop thinking about it. Success is about action, make sure you are taking action.
One of my major hobbies is gardening. The catalogs are starting to come in and I'm getting very excited about what I will plant this year. I LOVE to see things grow. Ideas, people, businesses. Growth is growth.
Over the pandemic, I tried some new gardening methods. Some worked, some didn’t, but I had fun in the process even if my vision didn’t turn out. I planned a berry section of my garden with raspberries and blueberries and it did not work out, but I still tried and I will try again! I took it on with a plan to play big.
That is how we should approach any opportunity. Start with positive energy and enthusiasm.
If mediation isn’t for you, or vision boards aren’t for you, that is okay! Find the mindset practice that feels right. It could be as simple as saying your idea out loud and putting it out into the universe, as you might have heard people say.
