You're a Leader, but Did You Forget About This?

Follow the leader…

But, hey, remember... YOU’RE the leader.

k

You are in the position you wanted to be in as a kid playing that game or really anything where someone was picked as a captain or a leader.

The one who gets to make the decisions, the one who gets to make the plan, the one who gets to be in charge.

As a kid, you took on these roles with confidence! You believed in your abilities. You delegated tasks to the other kids on the team, knowing their strengths. You encouraged everyone. You set goals. You were excited. You were proud of what you accomplished at the end of it.

Why as an adult does this concept become a lot scarier?

When and why do we lose confidence in ourselves and our ability to lead?

It can stem from a variety of life circumstances but I’m here to tell you, that brave kid, that kid who took charge and led the game, lives right inside of you.

Owning our role and connecting with it personally is a key part to being successful in that role.

When I work with my private clients, even though a focus on revenue and growth is always in our plans, we also focus on the inner work. Making sure to lead with heart-centered leadership and stay aligned to our values in every decision.

As kids, we dream BIG.

We have massive goals and while they might change throughout the years, that feeling, that endless possibility feeling, is always right there with us.

As you sit in your office, or home office, or at the park, or the coffee shop, or whatever your work environment looks like today, take a moment to reflect back on ALL the amazing things you’ve done in your life, both personally AND professionally.

You’ve overcome obstacles and challenges. You’ve figured things out when you never thought you could. You found a way to manage a global pandemic, which you never dreamed would be part of your life, and you are here today doing the best you can leading your life.

You are already a strong leader.

Now, be the leader the younger version of yourself would be so proud of!
