Don't Make a Decision Based on Details
Don't make a decision based on details, make one based on results.
The one line item you didn’t like in a contract.
The proposal you put at a lower cost to accommodate the potential client.
The time commitment you aren’t sure you can handle.
While all of those are important, they aren’t the reason you should or should not do something.
When you invest in your business, results are what you are looking to achieve.
If the results outweigh the details, find a way to work around the details.
You can always ask for edits to a contract.
You should always ask for what you or your firm deserves and find ideal clients that match.
You can always make time for practices that fuel growth.
When you’re faced with a decision, look at these three vital components:
Will this help me reach my next financial goal?
Do I align with the coach/client?
Will I put in the required effort and do the work?
When your decision is more on the internal front, this also applies.
Let’s say you are looking to hire a new team member. Don’t get caught up in the details. Maybe you wanted 5 years experience and they only have 3 - does that really matter in the end? If they are the right person, they are the right person.
If their desired hourly fee and yours differ slightly - does that really matter in the end? Again, if they will bring results, the investment outweighs the detail.
