Three Tips for 2022 Planning
Wedding planning fun with my daughter.
A gardening photoshoot with my son’s girlfriend.
An afternoon drive and lunch with my husband.
This past week has been filled with family, memories and some wonderful downtime.
As summer comes to a close, schools open back up, many return to their office (their traditional office or home office) and warmer weather fades for those of us on the East Coast, we once again face changes and will need to pivot and shift.
I’m sure you’ve watched the news and seen some of the mandates on vaccines. New York is actually the first city to require proof of at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine for activities like indoor dining, the theatre and gyms.
Whether you think this is the right move or the wrong move, it’s happening. So, how can you prepare?
We have been thrown into just about every scenario over the past year and a half. Every business has their own set of unique challenges and struggles. This is why support is so important. Who do you reach out to when in need? Who is dealing with similar issues? Can you get together and discuss? Keep the conversations open so you don’t face anything alone.
As we move through the second half of the year, here are a few things to consider as you plan for 2022:
Do I know and understand my numbers?
Finances took a crazy turn for almost every single business owner when the pandemic began. Some were able to get a PPP loan or other assistance, while others weathered the storm and depleted savings. As you plan for 2022, have you assessed the risks and rewards? Have you truly run the numbers under a variety of circumstances? Circumstances you might never have imagined, but have now navigated?
Do I need help?
This covers many areas. Do you need to hire people? And if you go back to number one, make sure there is a financial strategy in place. Do you need to hire a VA or administrative team? Do you want to bring in a consultant or coach? Do you need a marketing team? Do you need support in your personal life? Is it time to book with your therapist or masseuse? Have you gone to the dentist lately? We let many parts of our routine slip as the pandemic raged, so get yourself back on track. Healthy in business and healthy in life.
Am I aligned so I can reach my goals?
When we shifted last year, we may have done things that didn’t exactly align with our plans. Did you cut prices? Did you create complimentary offerings? Did you do virtual training? Did you stop going to networking meetings? Think about what worked and what didn’t and ensure your new plans include action steps to help you reach your goals. What you needed to do last year, might not be what you want to do this year.
Your business, your firm, your organization, your nonprofit - it’s worth all the work. I’m here if you need anything!
