The ABC's of Growth

When you’re at the top of an organization, acting as a CEO or a law firm partner or a financial advisor, you want growth but you also want fun. That’s where I come in! This week’s newsletter is full of lessons, but we’re using the alphabet as our guide.

Always Be Conversing.

The potential client, the friend, the person in line at the coffee shop, your kid’s friend's parents. Just keep talking to people. Every conversation has an opportunity to lead to business. Whether it’s you giving a resource or you acting as one, you won’t know what people need if you don’t ask.

Don’t Expect Finances.

Money isn’t going to roll into your lap without you doing the work and setting up consistent goals and actions.

Go Home.

Sometimes this is the answer. Too much networking overextends your time and becomes unproductive. If you cannot do the follow up, you are missing the value, therefore, reevaluate where you are showing up.

Include Jokes.

You need to laugh, you need to look at your business and have some fun with it. It can’t be serious all the time. Tell some jokes, keep your sense of humor and keep things light.

Kind Lessons.

You are going to learn every time you make a mistake. It can be viewed as a kind lesson, not a failure.

Mold Networks.

Are you following up? Are you checking in with people you’ve met not only when you are looking to make a sale or make a connection, but simply, just because you have heart and care!

Openness.

This is an easy one. Are you really open to what is around you? Are you ready for the expansion and growth that is possible and believing in your abilities?

Praise Quality.

Do good work and expect it from those around you.

Results.

This should always be the focus. Every goal you set should directly relate to a result you want to achieve, be it financial or otherwise.

Self-Care.

Go for that walk, do that mediation practice, journal. Take care of yourself, so you can take care of your business.

Team Understanding.

Find a team that sees and believes in the vision of the organization, gets you, supports you and wants to work together to create success.

Vulnerability Wins

Show your human side. When you need to take time off for family, or let a team member take a flex day, do it with your heart, fully showing you support people’s times and outside office life.

X-factor

You have one. Use it and flaunt it.

You Zag

Change direction when you need to, pivot. We have all experienced this over the past year and a half and we will continue to shift forever. Assess, respond, succeed.
