Lean on Me
Last week was really eventful!
I spoke about the importance of your money mindset at the Athena International Women's Conference, spoke to a group of attorneys on the topic of how relationships are the golden ticket to success and at the Smart Hustle Conference, spoke on the value of leadership and business growth.
This was an enormous amount of fun and I am so lucky that my business brings me such joy.
Another part of joy last week came in hosting my first Slater Success round table for a group of women business leaders.
I have brought groups of women together for years and I am always amazed at the synergy and support that happens when strangers walk in the door and in moments are bonded.
They are quickly standing up for one another, helping one another stand in their own values, gaining clarity and supporting each other in their decisions.
This intimate group was no different. The women at the table have each other in the follow-through of all the work they did and in the decisions they made. They are not alone.
Even as the day came to a close, no one was in a rush to leave and that was such a huge compliment.
If you have followed me for a while, you know I strongly believe in a good support team. It’s not only something I teach, it is something I live by.
I had several meetings last week for new business, as well as contract extensions. When I felt myself unclear in my money mindset and questioning my own value, I immediately picked up the phone and spontaneously called a girlfriend/colleague from my own support group.
She picked up, even though she was in the middle of a busy day, and said I must have heard her thinking of me, as she actually wanted to run something by me, too. We each talked through our stuff, gained clarity and hopped off the phone with a “love ya, bye, talk soon!” Simple, short, and so needed.
When we are in our own businesses, we are so close to the topics and issues we are working on and it can be difficult to see the forest through the trees.
Are you building your network of support?
Who can you make a quick call to when you are stuck?
You have great vision for your future, ensure that future is in your grasp by building that support and leaning on it when you need it.
